Yesterday John preached about God being "The
Rewarder" at Pastor
Nikom's church, Light of
Khon Kaen. I had the
blessed opportunity to
NOT hear most of it. ( note: this is sarcasm)
Aslan was a tired, exhausted mess that wanted to play, run and shout as his Daddy preached. So, instead of sitting inside under the fans with the rest of the church, I got to enjoy the 100 degree weather outside in the sun taming the "lion". I hated not being in there to hear John's message. One of the joys of missionary life -most churches do not have children's church. Anyway. When the service was over,
Brayden came out to me with his toothless
lispey voice and said..."
Ahh, Mom. I am sorry you had to miss it. Daddy did a great job. Especially at the end, I was starting to cry. But before he sat back down, I had to dry my eyes because I didn't want him to see me and think that I was sad because I had to sit by myself." That totally blessed me to hear my 6 year old say that. He sounded so grown and mature... and it helped me get out of my funk that I was outside with a 2 year old instead of in the service. Well, John preaches again at a different church, River of Life, this Sunday. I sure hope I can be there fully for that. After last week's episode, I am tempted to find a sitter for
Aslan. Sure do miss the awesome children's programs back in America. So next time you drop your children off at Bug-a-
Boo's or Reign Forest at
FHC, give the worker a big hug and thank them if not for yourself then send them some appreciation from the
Lamberts! May God the
Rewarder reward them.
